"This sessions will teach instructors how to implement the Close Reading Interpretive Tool (CRIT) in their classrooms. Developed by the University of Texas, the CRIT tool helps students dissect a difficult or dense piece of literature by practicing their concrete and abstract thinking.

This session will include an overview of the tool and a breakdown of the steps. We will also be using grade-level material to practice using the tool, and discuss as a group the best ways to implement this in the classroom.
